Walk through a world of imagination... surrounded by Jules Vernes classics carved in sand. Utilizing some 3500 tons of South Padre Island Sand and the talents of an international crew of master sand sculptors, this project spotlights the books of Jules Verne, author of some of the world's best-loved tales of fantasy, including Journey to the Center of the Earth; 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea; Around the World in 80 Days and Mysterious Island.
"Narrow Escape" - carved by Carl Jara
A first of its kind in South Texas, the sculpture garden will also house a Mini-Golf course that is certain to delight kids of all ages! Sand Castle lessons and Master Sculptor demonstrations will be held throughout the summer.
It is expected that the sculptures - which are being treated with an environmentally-friendly sealant upon completion - will be available for viewing throughout the summer season. Come and see this great work of art at Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island, Texas.
This site - like that of the project! - is under heavy construction. See newly added files here:
